Editorial Policy
How we produce, verify, and stand behind our work.
What we publish
Swipe Sports publishes opinion and analysis about sports news, built on verified, publicly available reporting. We are not an insider outlet. We don't have sources, we don't claim scoops, and we don't fabricate access. When a piece references reporting, that reporting is attributed and linked to the journalist and outlet that broke it.
Sourcing standards
Every article must cite at least two independent sources, linked inline. Social media posts referenced in our coverage are embedded only after the post's existence is programmatically verified — if we can't confirm a post is real and live, it doesn't appear. Statistics are checked against official league data and primary sources, not aggregators.
Fact-checking
Every article passes an independent fact-check before publication — a separate review that verifies each factual claim against primary sources. Articles that fail are corrected and re-checked or killed. Disputed claims are adjudicated claim by claim; when a claim can't be verified, it's removed or explicitly framed as unconfirmed. The same check runs on our social posts before they're scheduled.
Opinion, labeled as opinion
Our editorial voice is opinionated by design — we believe sports writing should have a point of view. Opinions are stated as opinions and supported with evidence. We do not dress up speculation as insider reporting, invent dialogue, fabricate scenes, or claim expertise we don't have.
AI tooling
Swipe Sports uses AI tools in researching, drafting, and producing its content, under editorial supervision and within the verification standards described on this page. Every article is fact-checked against primary sources before publication regardless of how it was drafted, and the sourcing, attribution, and correction standards here apply to all of our work without exception.
Images
Our featured images are stylized illustrations produced in-house and verified against reference photographs of the people depicted before publication. They are editorial artwork, not photojournalism, and are presented as such.
Corrections
We correct material errors promptly and transparently. See our corrections policy for how to report an error and what happens when you do.
