Corrections

We'd rather be corrected than wrong. Here's how it works.

Report an error

Spotted a factual error — a wrong stat, a misattributed quote, a mangled name, a claim that doesn't hold up? Email hello@swipesports.com with the article URL and what's wrong. Include a link to a primary source if you have one; it speeds everything up.

What happens next

We review correction requests against primary sources — official league data, the original reporting, the actual post or transcript. Requests are typically reviewed within 24 hours. If the error is real, we fix it promptly: factual errors in the body are corrected in place, and material corrections — anything that changes the substance of the story — get a dated correction note on the article.

What counts as a correction

Corrections cover factual errors: numbers, dates, names, scores, quotes, and mischaracterized reporting. They don't cover disagreement with our opinions — our takes are labeled as takes, and the remedy for a take you hate is a reply, not a correction. Developing stories are updated as facts emerge; updates that supersede earlier information are noted when they materially change the story.

Removals

We don't unpublish articles because someone dislikes them. Articles are removed or substantially rewritten only when the underlying premise proves false — and when that happens, we say so rather than quietly deleting.

Standards

This policy is part of our broader editorial policy, which covers sourcing, fact-checking, and how we produce our work.
